HISTORICAL-DIALECTIC MATERIALISM FOR RESEARCH IN EDUCATION

This work addresses the scientific method Historical-dialectical materialism related to the Marxist philosophical conception, as one of the possible methodological approaches to social sciences, especially the most appropriate for understanding social-historical reality. This is a bibliographical review that aims, mainly, to bring together the Marxist epistemological dimension and research in education. Specifically, it aims to describe the foundations of historical-dialectical Materialism. Analyze the theoretical-methodological assumptions of Marxist dialectics for investigations in education and understanding educational reality. In its methodological contributions, it uses qualitative descriptive-exploratory research. From the results it appears that the Marxist dialectic converges to the epistemological approach favorable to the systematic elaboration of knowledge in the field of education. He soon concludes that this methodology is a mechanism of theoretical-practical reflection for the educational reality considered in its multiple dimensions and contradictions.
