Crossed voices. Intergenerational interaction and learning in a time of pandemic

Abstract

The idoSOS - intertwined voices project, from the Education and Training Research Centre at the Higher School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal (ESE/IPS), took place between September 2020 and October 2021, as part of the creation of responses to issues arising from the SARS-Cov-2 pandemic. With the aim of investigating effective intergenerational strategies to reduce the social isolation of the elderly population, value them and strengthen their ability to cope with emergency situations, we sought to create pathways for dialogue and encounters between young people and the elderly that would result in empathic processes of mutual support and learning. This article focuses on the methodologies and strategies adopted and presents the results of the project.

Carla Cibele Figueiredo, Centro de Investigação em Educação e Formação do Instituto Politécnico de Setúbal

Doutorada em Educação, especialidade de Administração e Políticas Educativas (IE/UL, 2011), Mestre em Relações Interculturais (UA, 2004), licenciada em Psicologia, variante Educacional (1996) e bacharel em Magistério Primário (1987). É atualmente docente adjunta da Escola Superior de Educação do Instituto Politécnico de Setúbal e co-coordenadora do Centro de Investigação em Educação e Formação (CIEF/IPS) de que é membro fundador.

Ana Alcântara, ESE - IPS; IHC-NOVA FCSH/IN2PAST

Doutorada em História, especialidade História Contemporânea (FCSH/NOVA, Lisboa, 2019), mestre em Ciência e Sistemas de Informação Geográfica (ISEGI/NOVA, 2011) e licenciada em História variante Arqueologia (FCSH/NOVA, 2004). É atualmente docente adjunta convidada da Escola Superior de Educação do Instituto Politécnico de Setúbal (ESE-IPS), investigadora integrada do Instituto de História Contemporânea (IHC-NOVA FCSH/IN2PAST) e investigadora efetiva do Centro de Investigação em Educação e Formação (CiEF/IPS).

Filipe Fialho, Centro de Investigação em Educação e Formação do Instituto Politécnico de Setúbal

É docente Assistente do Departamento de Artes na Escola Superior de Educação do Instituto Politécnico de Setúbal (ESE-IPS), desde 1997. No domínio da sua formação académico-profissional concluiu os cursos de: Formação Avançada em Avaliação em Educação (IE-UL, 2012), Mestrado em Educação com especialização em Formação Pessoal e Social (FC-UL, 2007), Licenciatura em Professores de Educação Musical do Ensino Básico (ESE-IPS, 1998), Bacharelato em Professores do 1º Ciclo do Ensino Básico (UE, 1994) e Técnico de Gestão e Promoção Turística, especialização em Entidades Públicas (CEDRA,1991). É investigador efetivo do Centro de Investigação em Educação e Formação (CIEF/IPS).

Joana Matos, ESE/IPS; FBAUL/CIEBA

Doutorada em Belas-Artes, especialidade de Ciências da Arte (FBAUL, 2020), mestrado e licenciatura na área da Educação Visual e Tecnológica (ESE-IPS, 2008, 2010). Atualmente é professora adjunta convidada da Escola Superior de Educação do Instituto Politécnico de Setúbal (ESE-IPS) e da Escola Superior de Educação do Politécnico de Lisboa, investigadora integrada do Centro de Estudos e de Investigação em Belas-Artes (FBAUL/CIEBA) e investigadora efetiva do Centro de Investigação em Educação e Formação (CIEF/IPS).
