Crossed voices. Intergenerational interaction and learning in a time of pandemic

The idoSOS - intertwined voices project, from the Education and Training Research Centre at the Higher School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal (ESE/IPS), took place between September 2020 and October 2021, as part of the creation of responses to issues arising from the SARS-Cov-2 pandemic. With the aim of investigating effective intergenerational strategies to reduce the social isolation of the elderly population, value them and strengthen their ability to cope with emergency situations, we sought to create pathways for dialogue and encounters between young people and the elderly that would result in empathic processes of mutual support and learning. This article focuses on the methodologies and strategies adopted and presents the results of the project.
