Abstract

The present article focuses on the principles, processes and practices in the scope of artistic and aesthetic education, which have been developed in the Curricular Unit (UC) of Plastic Arts II, of the 2nd year within the Degree in Basic Education, at Lisbon’s Polytechnic School of Education.

Within the tutorship of agents aiming to take action as future interveners at the spheres of education, whether in formal or non-formal contexts, to awake the future educational agent to the transformative potential of artistic and aesthetic education (whether in cultural, social, environmental terms....), it has been the objective of the interdisciplinary group of teachers (from art sciences, arts education, design and educational sciences) responsible for that UC.

In this sense, ensuring that the creative and artistic processes are understood as investigative ones and their practices as socially constructed, integrating and transforming the individual and consequently the social environment, interrelating school, society and art, has been a recurrent concern.

Author Biographies

Sandra Antunes, Escola Superior de Educação do Politécnico de Lisboa

Sandra Antunes é licenciada em Artes Plásticas - Pintura, mestre em Teorias da Arte, pós-graduada em Ciências da Educação e em Design de Produção Industrial e doutorada em Design. Professora do grupo de Artes Visuais desde 1998, leciona atualmente no domínio de Artes Visuais Tecnologias e Multimédia, na Escola Superior de Educação do Politécnico de Lisboa (ESELx). Tem investigação publicada a respeito do Desenho e da concepção de Corpo no âmbito do pensamento ontológico da Contra-Reforma na Península Ibérica; no campo da História do Design em Portugal; na ESELx desenvolve pesquisa, com colegas de trabalho, sobre metodologias de ensino e de investigação na Educação Artística, nas Artes Visuais e no Design. 

Joana Ferreira, Escola Superior de Educação do Politécnico de Lisboa

Joana Ferreira é licenciada em Design, mestre em Design industrial e especialista em Design. Professora profissionalizada do grupo 600 – Artes Visuais (3º ciclo e secundário) desde 2007. Leciona atualmente no curso de Artes Visuais Tecnologias e no curso de Educação Básica, na Escola Superior de Educação do Politécnico de Lisboa (ESELx), bem como no ensino básico. Tem publicações na área do design e educação artística.

 

Joana Matos , Escola Superior de Educação do Politécnico de Lisboa

Joana Matos é licenciada e mestre na área de Professores de Educação Visual e Tecnológica e doutorada em Belas-Artes, especialidade Ciências da Arte. Professora do grupo 110 (1º ciclo) e 240 (Educação Visual e Tecnológica) desde 2008, leciona atualmente na Escola Superior de Educação do Instituto Politécnico de Setúbal e na Escola Superior de Educação do Politécnico de Lisboa. Tem publicações na área da Educação Artística baseada nas suas práticas enquanto docente e participa em diversos projetos de investigação que envolvem diferentes áreas do saber.
