Abstract

This research has as its theme the relationship between Pedagogy and the Educational Sciences. We propose to reflect on the issue of pedagogy being a Science, identifying traces in the literature that confirm that pedagogy is a Science of education. The work consists of a qualitative research of literature review. The consulted authors, from the studies of the Thematic Seminary: Education, Pedagogy and Science of Education, discuss this theme. John Baptist of La Salle, creator of Lassalian pedagogy, is the reference author we brought to support our writing. The authors tend to understand Pedagogy as a science. We consider as evidence the fact that Lasallian pedagogy has been structured and continually growing for over three hundred years and, throughout this period, producing knowledge based on research. It is known that a Science does not appear in an empty space, there is already a walk with many contributions and science is being built in spaces and from these constructions, and this growth also occurs in the interfaces established with other sciences in the field of education. The studied authors corroborate the commitment to do quality educational research, which will certainly give more robustness and better structure to pedagogy as a science of education.
