Estilo parental e mediação do uso de tecnologias por crianças até 6 anos

As crianças cada vez utilizam mais as tecnologias e numa idade cada vez mais jovem. Os pais têm o papel primordial de as guiar numa utilização segura e relevante em aprendizagens. O objetivo deste trabalho foi perceber como o as perceções dos pais sobre tecnologias se relacionam com o estilo de mediação parental na utilização tecnológica pelos filhos. Deste modo, foram entrevistadas 15 famílias com, pelo menos, uma criança até 6 anos, de modo a conhecer as suas práticas familiares com tecnologias, as suas perceções sobre estas e o estilo de mediação parental realizada. Após análise dos dados, verificou-se que a mediação parental realizada aos filhos está diretamente relacionada com as perceções dos pais sobre as tecnologias: os pais que têm mais experiência e boas perceções sobre as tecnologias tendem a adotar um estilo autoritativo, guiando os filhos nesta utilização, fazendo uma co-utilização esporádica e confiando nas práticas dos filhos; os pais com perceções negativas tendem a realizar uma mediação autoritária, impondo regras rígidas, nomeadamente de tempo de utilização, desvalorizando a utilização das tecnologias pelos filhos.
