Presentation and Institutional Framework

From Research to Practice: Studies in Education (e-ISSN: 2182-1372) is a reference scientific journal published by the Research Centre in Education (CIED) of the Lisbon School of Education (ESELx). Its primary purpose is to serve as a platform for the dissemination of educational research, promoting dialogue between theoretical research and pedagogical practice. The journal positions itself as a forum for sharing and discussion among researchers, teachers and other education professionals who seek to reflect on the complexity of contemporary educational contexts.

Focus and Scope

The journal has a multidisciplinary scope within the field of Educational Sciences. It welcomes contributions that demonstrate methodological rigour and social relevance in the following areas:

  • Innovation and curriculum development across different levels of education and training;
  • Initial and continuing education of teachers, educators and other educational professionals;
  • Subject-specific didactics (Languages, Mathematics, Sciences, Arts, Expressive Practices);
  • Special education, inclusion and diversity in school and non-school contexts;
  • Educational policies, school administration and management;
  • History of education and sociology of education;
  • Intervention and creative processes in non-formal education contexts.

Periodicity and Publication Model

The journal is published on a biannual basis (two issues per year). In addition, it may publish Special or Thematic Issues, organised by guest editors under the supervision of the permanent editorial team.
