Editorial policies

Da Investigação às Práticas: Estudos de Natureza Educacional is an open access journal. All content is freely available for reading, downloading, sharing, and reuse, with no registration or payment required. The journal does not charge submission, review, or publication fees (APC).

Peer-Review Process

The scientific integrity of From Research to Practice is grounded in a rigorous double-blind peer-review system:

  • Review workflow: Following an initial compliance screening, each manuscript is sent to two external reviewers.
  • Review criteria: Reviewers assess originality, methodological clarity, data relevance and quality of writing.
  • Resolution of disagreements: In the event of conflicting reviews, the manuscript is sent to a third reviewer.

Special Issues

Da Investigação às Práticas may publish special or thematic issues curated by guest editors. The publication of these issues is governed by the following criteria:

  • The editorial coordination is responsible for the content of the entire journal, including all special issues, which must fall within the journal's aims and scope.
  • Articles published in special issues are subject to the same editorial oversight as regular papers, including external double-blind peer review, and are clearly labelled as belonging to a special issue.
  • Guest editors' credentials are verified and approved by the editorial coordination prior to the start of the editorial process.
  • Guest editors are supervised by the editorial coordination or by designated members of the scientific board.
  • Papers submitted by guest editors themselves are handled through an independent review process and may not exceed 25% of the total articles in the special issue.

Open Access and Reuse Policy

This journal provides free and immediate access to all of its content, based on the principle that scientific knowledge should be a public good.

  • Open access: Any user may read, download, copy, distribute, print or create links to the full texts without prior permission, provided that authorship is properly attributed and the journal is acknowledged as the original place of publication.
  • No article processing charges (APCs): No fees are charged at any stage of the editorial process.

Ethics, Integrity and Plagiarism Prevention

The journal subscribes to the standards of conduct of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

  • Plagiarism detection: All submissions are subject to originality checks. Manuscripts showing evidence of plagiarism or unauthorised redundancy (self-plagiarism) will be immediately rejected.
  • Institutional endogeneity: In order to ensure diversity and editorial independence, the proportion of articles authored by members of the publishing institution or the editorial team is strictly limited to 25% per issue.
