Eco-sensores como recursos de participação em saúde ambiental nas escolas

O presente workshop tem como objetivo central envolver os participantes no uso de eco-sensores, como ferramentas didáticas de participação em saúde ambiental. Pretende-se dar a conhecer as potencialidades dos eco-sensores na aquisição de informação ambiental e consciencializar para o papel que aquela informação ambiental pode desempenhar nas tomadas de decisão por alunos/as e professores/as relativas ao ambiente e consequentemente à saúde ambiental das escolas.
Na última década, a utilização de sensores, nomeadamente dos sensores integrados em dispositivos móveis, como os tablets e os smartphones, tornou-se quotidiana, em todos os momentos e em qualquer lugar (Sagl & Resch, 2015). Desta forma, cidadãos e cidadãs adquirem informação do seu ambiente e publicam-na em ambientes diversos, como redes sociais, plataformas de projetos de informação geográfica voluntária, projetos de ciência cidadã, criando conhecimento que influencia decisões na vida social, mas também na vida política e na ciência (Boulos, et al., 2011).
Neste workshop, os/as participantes serão convidados/as a usar eco-sensores no ambiente da escola, em conjunto com telemóveis e tablets, para adquirir informação indicadora de problemas de saúde ambiental. A referida informação será usada como base para a criação de soluções para esses problemas, ligando as ações quotidianas à qualidade do ambiente e à saúde ambiental das escolas. Refletir-se-á sobre a ação desenvolvida, o conhecimento criado e o potencial de participação de crianças e docentes na saúde ambiental das escolas.
