Abstract

Numa conjuntura mundial em que imperam o populismo, os “factos alternativos” 1 , a manipulação de informação, as controvérsias e as injustiças sociais, torna-se decisivo que os cidadãos se envolvam ativamente na defesa do Estado Democrático e dos Direitos Humanos.
As sociedades democráticas fundamentam-se em cidadãos ativos predispostos e capacitados a participarem em processos decisórios sobre as opções de desenvolvimento com as quais são confrontados, assegurando que as decisões políticas conjunturais e os interesses económicos de minorias não se sobrepõem aos objetivos sociais, aos valores ambientais e à promoção da qualidade de vida do conjunto da Humanidade.
